About...The Isle of Portland is a small island on the Jurassic Coast. It's a great place to stay the night if you want to see lots of the Jurassic coast as its pretty much in the middle.
The Island is famous for holding the olympic sailing events and also holding one of the largest man made harbours in the world. There are enough places on the island to spend the whole day here. |

Church Ope CoveChurch Open Cove is a small little cove with a shingle beach. Its a lovely spot for getting some time away the rest of the world as its usually very quiet here.
The hike to the cove offers lovely views of the rugged landscape and if you go all the way to the top you can find a giant replica of a fossil. |

Portland Bill Light House
Portland Bill Light house is the most famous place on the Island. It has been standing for over 100 years and is still in operation today.
Inside you can find artefacts that have been found all along the Jurassic Coast. You can also go up to the top and there is a cafe to enjoy some food and drinks.
The surrounding area is a beautiful spot relax and take in the seaside air as you watch the sunset.
