MofongoMofongo is a Puerto Rican dish with sautéed plantains as its focal ingredient. Plantains are picked green and deep-fried, then squashed with salt, garlic, and oil in a wooden pilón (mortar and pestle).
The aim is to produce a tight ball of mashed plantains that will absorb the attending condiments and have either pork cracklings or Chicharrón or bits of bacon inside. Most dressings and blends contain broth, garlic, and olive oil. It is customarily served with fried meat and chicken broth soup.
Specific flavors result from variations that include vegetables, chicken, shrimp, beef, or octopus packed inside or around the plantain orb. Additionally, the Mofongo Relleno is a stuffed variant of Mofongo, which was first made in the west coast of Puerto Rico when seafood, plentiful in the region, was placed inside the plantain ball with steamed meat or more seafood poured over it. Nowadays, Mofongo Relleno is normally stuffed with seafood, poultry, or another meat. The Mofongo is yet another delicacy that you can also catch in your next stop in Miami.

Jimmy'z Kitchen Wynwood |
If you finally got a chance to attempt the Mofongo here, you will say that this place has its great share of cons with this dish. First, is that they mostly pair the mofongo with a creole sauce which is comparable to a tomato based dipping paste with the thickness and tang you find from the Mofongo, offering a tasty treat and savoring the feeling. The restaurant atmosphere is super calm. You order up at the counter and then the food is brought out to your tabletop. There are vast windows letting in all the Florida shine, adorable tables with bright green chairs, outdoor seating and a side room for parties. The Jimm’z Kitchen Wynwood offers more than your usual Mofongo and nothing less.

Milly's Restaurant |
Many have visited this restaurant based on the great online reviews and many are agreeably surprised. The food, especially the Mofongo, is especially great. The service was very quick that you don’t really have to wait around for long. Finally, the waiters themselves are very attentive. You may start by ordering a quipe and the Sancocho, and be surprised at how good it is. They will serve you a big bowl with white rice on the side that was seasoned to excellence. You may also order avocado and they will be faultlessly ripe. Another local favorite to order is the shrimp ajillo with a side of rice and beans. The shrimp that the restaurant serves are quite enormous and also very well-seasoned with all kinds of delicious spices. The meal in Milly’s is amazing and if you are out of the restaurant in under an hour, you will definitely return.

The atmosphere of this excellent restaurant makes it seem as if you were in the isles in someone's patio relishing great homemade food.
