Ocean Park guarantees entertainment. At the same time, it provides an education for visitors to learn more about marine mammals. It has been doing so for over forty years and will continue to do so for generations to come. This is an unquestionable fact.

As one of the biggest theme parks in Hong Kong, Ocean Park covers an area of 226 acres (91.5 hectares). What is interesting about it is the large mountain dividing the area into two, namely, the Summit and the Waterfront, each offering its own distinct set of activities.

At the Summit, you will find the Polar Adventure as well as exciting rides. Be warned, it can get wild like The Rapids, the Raging River, or the Hair Raiser. With a name like that you can be sure it will knock your socks off. In keeping up with the technology, Ocean Park offers a Virtual Reality roller coaster ride, the first ever in Hong Kong. So, you cannot afford to pass up the chance to ride it in particular if you want to experience how it feels to fly.

At the Waterfront, you will find one of the park’s main attractions - Le Le and Ying Ying, the lovable pandas. Fans of marine life will be in awe of the Grand Aquarium’s splendor. In it resides more than 5,000 fishes of varied species. For a bit of nostalgia, make sure to take a stroll in Old Hong Kong to find out how the city was in the 1950s through the 70s.

With everything Ocean Park has to offer, it is no wonder why having fun here is effortless.

The best time to visit Ocean Park would be weekdays on Mondays through Thursdays. It is also a good idea to check out the local calendar to find out the dates of holidays – public and school related. Otherwise, be prepared to meet the crowds head on.
It is best to get there early right when the gates open at 10:00 AM.
Special experience programs are offered to visitors. The Ocean Park Honorary Panda Keeper program is popular yet a bit expensive. Even so, it could be worth it. Imagine being up close and personal with the park’s famous inhabitants albeit the glass screen. Another program lets visitors go snorkeling in the park’s massive aquarium. Some of the experiences are also kid-friendly but be sure to check in advance for any restrictions and pricing.
Shade is a bit scarce at the park. So, an umbrella is your best friend at Ocean Park. It will protect you from the heat. On the other hand, you might consider packing a handheld battery-powered fan. You could also consider wearing a hat.
Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes to Ocean Park. Remember, you have a lot of ground to cover. Moreover, the heat of the sun can make it harder for you to have fun. If you plan to visit when it is cold in Hong Kong, then remember to bring along a jacket.
