Despite the recent economic boom that Bangkok has experienced, it continues to preserve the public green spaces that offer both locals and tourists opportunities for relaxation and recreation. Refreshing jogging paths and clean bike trails are some of the main features of the parks. Lush grounds invite visitors to sit down and enjoy the sun. Culture is rich here, too. Opened to celebrate the 60th birthday of Queen Sikirit, it is a great place tourists and locals can visit if they want to enjoy more tranquil scenery. An artificial pond can be seen at the center of the park which shows a stunning reflection of nearby Emporium tower. Although the pond is too small for boat paddling, tourists can still spend time here watching various birds and turtles. If you're looking for a place to entertain bored kids, Benchasiri is a great option. The parks mini playgrounds can keep them busy for an hour or two. tips

Within the park, you can see two stunning fountains surrounded by marble walls which is accessible by taking the long stairs with a Japanese Pagoda inspired look at the entrance. In the background, you can also see the beautiful and mesmerizing skyscrapers of the city. Compared to Bangkok’s most popular Lumpini park where there is groovy music, dance instructors and a large number of people, Benjakitti is a lot quieter. The park boasts of separate bicycle lanes wherein joggers can have their personal space and cyclists can go as fast as they want with little interference. If you don’t have your own bike, there are available rentals for 40-50 Bhat only. If you are not a cycling enthusiast, you can always opt to go for a cruise using the power pedaled swans while enjoying the peaceful surroundings and scenic reflection of the skyscrapers. tips

Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden - one of the popular parks in Bangkok - is the product of the efforts of conservation, experimentation and presentation of the immense diversity of flora found in Thailand.
