Shopping at MBK
MBK mall’s full name is Mah Boon Krong, named after its chief developer’s parents: Mah and Boon Krong. It is a very large shopping center that has eight levels and over 1000 shops, as well as restaurants, beauty salons, cinema, games, and so much more. Each day, this shopping center attracts tens of thousands of shoppers. During weekends, this mall with eight floors and over 2,000 shops are usually visited by more than 100,000 shoppers. A large part of the center sells products from Thailand, which makes it popular among the tourists who always want memorabilia as well as many other products the center offer.
Cultural shows are also occasionally held at MBK. You can even witness one of the free Muay Thai fights shown here. Moreover, eating in MBK is relatively inexpensive, and lots of chain restaurants are found here. There is also the Pathumwan Princess Hotel in the center that’s located at its south end. On the other side of the center, you can find the Tokyo department store at the northern side which is four stories high. MBK is also connected to other famous shopping centers in Bangkok, such as Siam Paragon and Siam Discovery through a walkway, though these other two shopping centers sell a lot more upscale and authentic products. tips
