Bali is known for its efforts to preserve its natural attractions - an initiative that's evident in Ubud Monkey Forest. This attraction is not a zoo for monkeys, rather, it is their natural habitat where they freely - though sometimes mischievously - interact with people. There are more than 100 long-tailed macaques in this forest. While in location, you can freely observe how these monkeys live, interact with other monkeys and how they connect with people. A word of caution, though: these monkeys are far from friendly as they could bite you or take valuable items like jewelry and cameras from you. Aside from watching the monkeys swing along canopies and run around pathways, you can also enjoy a relaxing break at Ubud Monkey Forest. Under the nutmeg trees, you can just take in the fresh air and the song of the birds. It's a great place to just sit down and relax. If you're still looking for places to discover, you can go to the 14th Century Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal and the Pura Prajapati - a place which houses several relics and statues. Don't forget to befriend the local guides - they share important facts about the place. Some guides can also help you retrieve items stolen by the monkeys. Don't miss to take photos - the place is aesthetically exquisite. tips
