Venice Beach
Venice Beach is a relaxing beach town known for its bohemian spirit. It is also a favourite local surf spot. It has a residential neighbourhood, fashionable boutiques, interesting food spots and a promenade known as the boardwalk. It is world-famous and considered to be an eclectic cultural hub. Here you’ll find eccentric street characters such as jugglers, musicians, fortunetellers and other street performers. It is advisable to bring plenty of 1 dollar bills to tip after watching a performance.
In the East side of Venice Beach are the surf and skate shops, souvenir stores, tattoo and piercing shops, thrift shops and a bevy of restaurants and juice bars. There’s also an organic food stop frequented by celebrities known as Café Gratitude. If you want to learn more about Venice’s history, go on the excellently rated Real to Reel Vintage Walking Tour. You will find yourself immersed in the rich history sprinkled with interesting facts and tidbits. Or if the boardwalk crowd proves too much for you, you can also check the free exhibits at the Venice Oceanarium to marvel at the sea creatures up close. Another activity to enjoy here is strolling at the pier and capturing the famous sunset through your camera. Lastly, find time to check out the peaceful Venice Canals located in this affluent neighbourhood to appreciate its scenic beauty and serenity. TIPS
